The pump circulates water through a heating or cooling system and is supplied electrically from terminals. The first thermostat closes a switch which energises the pump through a resistance. The second thermostat closes a switch which short circuits the resistance thus increasing the potential applied to the pump and therefore the pump speed and flow of liquid. The two thermostats are set to operate in sequence on rise or fall of the controlled temp. and therefore produce a two step control of fluid flow and heat transfer although the thermostats themselves are commercially available on/off types. Further adjustment can be obtained by the use of a variable resistance.
