The angle joint for a rectangular cross-section waveguide has inner walls making an acute angle. The outer walls make two changes of direction to go round the corner. The angle alpha enclosed by the two outer bend walls (5, 5') satisfies the condition alpha = 90 deg. + 2/3 gamma, where gamma is the bend angle between the inner waveguide walls (1, 1'). With this choice of angles a broad band of frequencies of electromagnetic waves in the H10 mode pass round the angle joint without appreciable reflecting and inhomogeneities. The angle gamma may be greater than 30 deg.
|
