<p>A vulcanising press comprises a fixed lower table and half-mould and a movable upper table and half-mould. The upper table and lower table are clamped together to close the mould by gate-like frames, hinged at the bottom to the lower table and acting at the top as upper abutments for hydraulic cylinders which bear down on the upper face of the movable upper table. The frames can be swung outwards about their hinges, thus disengaging the upper table and permitting the mould to be opened. The large closure forces necessary in a tyre vulcanising mould can be withstood in a stable manner, without distortion. The closure forces are uniformly distributed.</p> |
