PURPOSE:To control the charging of a battery via a host computer and to omit the manual operations by reporting the state of the battery to a running controller so that a traveling robot is guided to an automatic charging device, then resetting the robot at its original position for restart of the running control. CONSTITUTION:The terminal voltage levels of the batteries mounted on the traveling robots 3-8 are periodically reported to a running controller 1 serving as a host device via a line driver 2. Then a robot whose charging of the battery is required is moved toward a battery charging place 10 along a running guide path 9. When the robot reaches the place 10, a touch is secured between the contact of the robot and a contact set on the path 9 for charging of the battery. When this charging is over, this information is supplied to the controller 1 and the robot is run up to its original position. Then the robot is actuated again. |
