PURPOSE:To simplify and compact a power generating system by passing a hot fuel gas through an expanded passage chamber, which is formed at the manifold back for reaction air or cooling air through a heat-exchange bulkhead, and performing heat exchange with the reaction air or cooling air. CONSTITUTION:An inlet and an outlet manifold 9, 9' for cooling air are provided at one of the mating surfaces of a battery stack 1, and the outlet and inlet manifolds 9', 9 are coupled together through a circulation duct 15, which has an exhaust damper 12, an outer air suction damper 13, and a blower 14. Inlet and outlet manifolds 10, 10' and 11, 11' for a methanol modified fuel gas and reaction air, respectively, are provided at the other mating surface, and an expanded passage chamber 18' constituting part of a fuel gas lead-in path 18 is formed at the back of the inlet manifolds 10, 9 for the reaction air or cooling air through a heat-exchange bulkhead 17. This sinks the temp. of the fuel gas without use of any separate heat exchanger, which should lead to simplification of the system and compacted construction of the same. |
