PURPOSE:To prevent domestic animals from suffering from diarrhea or other diseases, or promote the treatment and accelerate the growth of them, by mixing vinegar, UME (Japanese plum) pulp, tomatoes or strawberries with saccharides or a mixture thereof with organic acids. CONSTITUTION:(A) At least one from vinegar, fruit pulp of UME, tomato or strawberry is combined with (B) (i) saccharide or (ii) a mixture thereof with at least one from edible organic acids to give the subject mixed feed. The animals to be given the feed is, e.g., domestic animals, birds, pets, fishes and so on. Particularly preferred (A) is vinegar or Japanese plum pulp and the saccharide is preferably sucrose and glucose from palatable point of view. The edible organic acid is preferably citric, fumaric and lactic acid, because they have actions to inhibit diseases such as diarrhea and good palatability. The addition of bifidus cells thereto increase the action to prevent the diseases of animals. |
