Golf shoe stud is made in one piece and consists of a stud (1), a support plate (2) with screwing holes (3) and a screw peg (4). The stud (1) is in the form of a blunt cone fitted on a cylindrical base (7). This base can alternatively be hexagonal, square or have two parallel surfaces so that the stud can be fitted by using a normal spanner in place of the special screwing tool using the two screwing holes (3) in the support plate (2). The outer edge (5) of the support plate (2) is sharply grooved so that it grips into the sole of the shoe to avoid the stud becoming loose in use. The large surface area of the support plate (2) spreads the weight of the wearer over the stud so that the shoe sole does not feel uncomfortable.
