The wire frame with horizontal sections (5, 6) is hinged on the vehicle about a horizontal axis (2, 3). The frame can swing from a vertical storage position into a horizontal operating position. A flexible pocket (9) is slung between the frame, with the side sections (7, 8) of the frame bowed. To insert the handbag the frame is swung upwards to open the pocket. The handbag keeps the pocket from closing flat, with the weight of the handbag securing the pocket. The fitting is simply clamped to a bicycle or to the inside of a car door. It supports the handbag without its content being upset.
