Vibration damped mounting for deckhouse - with elastic support pads and light damping fill in walls

The deckhouse for the ship is made in a self contained unit which is supported on the deck by at least three elastic pads (8). These are under compression and dampen any vibrations. The structure is spaced from any rigid fixtures above the deck, by further elastic links. The space between the floor and the deck is filled with a vibration dampening foam or other filler, as are the walls. Internal walls are of a light construction, also filled with dampening material. The structure is sufficiently self supporting to allow two or more storeys to be assembled.
