<p>A flexible band is applied on the edge of the strip before it is rolled up in a reel or a cassette. The band and the strip are both rolled-up together, so that individual turns on the strip are separated from each other. The system may be used for cine films (4a); and it ensures that only a narrow strip along the edge of the film is damaged by contact with the flexible band. The picture areas of the film strip never come in physical contact. The flexible band may have cutouts (9) and may be of sinusoidal shape to increase its flexibility.</p> |
