<p>Compsn. comprises a 0.1-4.0 (0.2-1.5) wt.%. soln. (aqs or aqs. -alcoholic) of an (in)organic silicate nI). The latter is a quat ammonium salt of formula (NR1R2R3R4)2O. YSiO2 ZH2O (where R1-4 = (hydroxy)alkyl; Y = 0.5-4 and Z = 0-15) or an alkali metal silicate. Pref. include methyl triethanol ammonium silicate, tetra-ethanol ammonium silicate, dimethyl dipropanol ammonium silicate. Na, K or Na-K silicate. (I) surface roughens the hair without damaging it. As no polymers are involved, stability of the set hair in moist atmosphere conditions is excellent and no flaking-off of resin particles on combing/brushing the hair occurs. The natural sheen and handle of the hair is also unaffected.</p> |
