Steam generator for pressurised water nuclear plant - has vertical pressure vessel with separated evaporation chamber and tube nests

The steam generator, esp. for pressurised water nuclear power plant has a vertical cylindrical pressure vessel. The hating medium flows in an upright, U shaped pipe cluster held in a tube plate at the lower end of the pressure vessel. The evaporation space is separated from the sater flow and water separator at the top of the evaporator. The central down comer space is bounded between the two legs of the tube nests by baffles. This space which divides the evaporation chamber into two sections is connected at its lower end only with a section within whose pipes the heating medium flows upwards. The feed water supply pipe is connected to a section within which the heating medium flows downwards.
