<p>A support for yarn packages, esp. for the supply of an automatic loom, knitting machine, etc., carries at least two spools, the ends of which are knotted together; and has a fixed guide eyelet aligned to the spool being unwound. The support includes a conveyor driven by a motor on which a number of spool holders are arranged, and move together, so that the spool being unwound, is aligned correctly to the guide eyelet. A thread detector is provided, by means of which, the changeover of the thread from the just emptied spool to the next spool is sensed, and a signal to the motor is put out. The motor then moves the conveyor to bring the next spool into alignment with the fixed guide eyelet. Relieves the operator from constantly replacing an empty with a full spool, since a full day's supply can be loaded at one time.</p> |
