1467814 Valves HOOVER Ltd 4 June 1974 [24 May 1973] 24978/73 Heading F2V [Also in Division A4] An anti-syphon valve for a dish-washer has a pair of water inlets 10A, 10C, the water supply to each being controlled by a solenoid valve (not shown), and a pair of water outlets 10B, 10C for connection respectively to the inlet to a salt container (for regenerating a water softener) and to a water softener. Ball valves 17, 18 seat on the inlets. On opening a solenoid valve the ball moves to seat on the end 19 of an air passage 12A, 12B to allow flow to the outlet 10B, 10D. Any water leaking through a valve is deflected by portions 11A, 11B of an upper body member 11 to drain away via an outlet 23. The valve member may take the form of a flap and the inlet and outlet of each section may be made concentric with the other.
