The heating installation contains a heating boiler having a burner and a heat-discharge system which is connected to the heating boiler via flow and a return. A regulating means with temperature sensors for the external temperature TA and the heating-boiler temperature TK controls the heating installation. In order to improve the heating installation, the regulating means contains a switching member which switches over the regulating means into an operating range B1 or B2. The first operating range B1 lies above a heating-boiler minimum temperature TKmin and requires a switching-temperature value S1 equal to a constant temperature value DELTA Tkon. In the operating range B2 beneath the heating-boiler minimum temperature TKmin the switching-temperature value S2 is made up of the constant temperature value DELTA Tkon and a variable temperature value DELTA Tvar, which corresponds to the difference between heating-boiler minimum temperature TKmin and the heating curve KH. <IMAGE>
