ACTIVATED SLUDGE PROCESS IN VARIABLE CAPACITY BIOREACTOR

PURPOSE:To accurately and efficiently treat sewage without requiring a sedimentation basin by surely separating activated sludge from treated water discharged from a variable capacity bioreactor in which aeration is carried out with a separation membrane and by returning the separated sludge to the bioreactor. CONSTITUTION:Activated sludge is separated from treated water discharged from a variable capacity bioreactor 1 in which aeration is carried out with a separation membrane 11 and the separated sludge is returned to the bioreactor. The amt. of air blown from an aeration pipe 4 is automatically regulated in accordance with a change in the level of water in the bioreactor 1. Solid-liq. separation can be accurately and efficiently carried out and the conventional gravity sedimentation tank can be made unnecessary.
