<p>1397208 Wrap around carriers MEAD CORP 13 Aug 1973 [14 Aug 1972] 38274/73 Heading B8C A wrap around carrier for a group of articles comprises parallel top and bottom walls 1 and 6/8 interconnected by side walls 3, 4, one of the parallel walls including lap panels, 6, 8 secured together in overlapping relationship, an end flap 28, 32, 44, 48 secured to each end of each side wall and folded inwardly partially to close the ends of the carrier, and an end panel 24, 40 foldably joined to an end edge of one of the lap panels at each end of the carrier and secured to the end flaps in flat contacting relation. The wall 1 may also have end panels 26, 42. Slots 36A, 36B in the end panels 24, 26 at one end form a carrying aperture which is braced by a flap 37 struck from end flap 28. The lap panels have tightening apertures 10-17 and locking tabs 18-20 driven into apertures defined by retaining tabs 21-23. A keel panel 52 is folded upwardly from the end of lap panel 6 and has slots 54-57 to locate the cans in a middle row of cans in the carrier.</p> |
