Rodenticidal compsns. comprise glycol solns. of anticoagulant indanedione or 4-hydroxycoumarin derivs. The solsn. have a long shelf life of concns. up to 10g/kg. In an example, a rodenticide concentrate is prepd. by dissolving 10g of warfarin in 990 g of propylene glycol. Suitable anticoagulants include 3-(1-phenyl-2-acetylethyl)-4-hydroxycoumarin (warfarin), 3-(alpha-acetonyl-4-chlorobenzyl)-4-hydroxycoumarin (coumachlor), 3-(3-p-biphenylyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-1-naphthyl)-4-hydroxy-coumar- in, 3-(1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-1-naphthyl)-4-hydroxy-coumarin, 2-(1,1-diphenlacetyl)-1,3-indanedione and 2-(1-p-chlorophenyl-1-phenylacetyl)-1,3-indanedione. The solvent is pref. ethylene glycol or a polyoxyethylene glycol, opt. contg. a cosolvent (esp. acetone or CH2Cl2). The concn. of the anticoagulant can be 0.01-10 g/kg. In use, the solns. can be used to impregnate a cereal-based bait.
|
