The high temperature insulation panel is formed by a slab of microporous silica. A reinforcing panel is embedded in this, leaving a certain thickness on each side. This reinforcing panel comprises a sheet, or tissue, or inorganic material. This has either perforations over its surface, or is covered with formed dimples. A covering of woven glass fibre or metallic cloth covers the outer surface of the panel; this cloth is brought down over the edges of the slab and is attached to the reinforcement panel. An increase in resistance to flexing and cracking results, when the panel is in use.
|
