Folding suitcase or other container of flexible material e.g. plastics film or fabric coated with rubber or with plastic material comprises >=2 rigid bars which are firmly connected to the outer side surfaces and which extend over the whole length of the outer side surfaces. Straps passing over the end surfaces join together the corresponding bars of the side surfaces. Pref. further straps pass over the side surfaces and the upper and lower surfaces, encompassing the suitcase or container, and may be subjected to a rigid bar which supports the handle. The dimensions and vol. of the case vary with those of the objects placed inside it, allowing small objects to be carried without excessive packing and without risk of damage, and allowing easier carrying when empty.
