The bicycle/motorcycle brake block has a mounting bracket (6) with a lining (8) between the inclined inner surface (6b) of the bracket and the block (25). There is a locking plate (14) embedded in the bracket with a central aperture to snap-fit over the grooved end of an operating rod (5). The locking plate ends are bent back (14a) to increase resistance to flexure. The lining (8) has a projecting tongue (2) which fits in an elongated slot (15) in the bracket (6), and is biased by a spring (23) towards the upper end of the slot. When pressed into contact with the wheel, the block and lining (8) can slide down the inclined track (15) to increase grip, and the spring returns it to its original position.
|
