<p>A cyclone for separating solid particled from a gas stream incorporates a washer in the gas outlet tube to remove fine particles which do not separate by centrifugal action. Underneath the outlet tube is a funnel into which the slurry contg. the sepd. solids flows and which has its own outlet. The washer can also remove gaseous components from the gas stream. The appts. is used to clean industrial gas streams which often contain large quantities of solids and e.g. sulphorous anhydride and other gaseous components which would contaminate the environment, or which should be recovered for other reasons. The plant is more efficienty than existing ones, occupies less space an uses less energy. In addition corrosion problems are less.</p> |
