<p>One-way face-up cloth layering appts., has a reciprocating laying carriage mounting a positively driven fabric web feed roll with a clutch in its drive transmission, and also mounting a transverse housing carrying a cutter movable laterally to sever a laid length from the web. Web clamps close to the cutter grip the cut fabric end, under the control of a limit switch, when the carriage has completed a layering run and the cutter has operated, and another limit switch disengages the clutch so that the feed roll is stationary and the web end anchored for the return run of the carriage. For the layering run the clamps are released and the clutch engaged, again by limit switch control. Fully automatic machine, which lays accurately cut equal lengths precisely on top of one another.</p> |
