<p>A hydro pneumatic shock absorber for a vehicle has a piston which travels inside an oil-filled chamber and has valves connected to a rod extending through the cylinder cover via a bearing and seal. In a connecting compensation chamber is a gas cushion which presurizes the oil, and in th earea of the dividing surface between gas cushion and oil, a strong material divider operated by the piston rod forms ring-shaped gaps filled with fluid under capillary force. Between the divider (19) and the cylinder cover (2) is a sleeve (23) around the piston rod (5) with a gap (24). This gap is filled with fluid by capillary force. The piston rod has, in the middle positions of the divider, small length surface areas facing the compensating chamber (9).</p> |
