A vibrator for a vibratory screen or for compacting concrete has a pneumatic vane motor with a hollow cylindrical outer part (8) and a relatively rotatable cylindrical inner part (10), forming between them a working chamber divided into cells by sliding vanes mounted in radial slots in the inner part. The inner part with the sliding vanes (12) is a stator stationarily mounted in the housing, while the outer part is a rotor with its centre of gravity located outside its axis of rotation. On both sides of the stator are concentric supporting pins, mounted non-rotatably in end walls (5) of a surrounding housing, with each pin bearing a roller bearing for the rotor near the end wall.
