Post treating liq. polybutadiene coatings - by heating in the presence of an organic peroxide

A coating material is prepd. by post treating a liq. butadiene polymer with an organic peroxide (I) at 80-220 pref. 100-180 esp. 140-160 degrees C. The coatings adhere well, are smooth and have no pin holes and may be used for metal, wood, ceramics or textiles. (I) has a half time of 0.25-30 pref. 10-20 mins. and may be chosen from benzoyl-, cyclohexanone-, lauroyl-, dicumyl peroxide, etc. It is used in an amt. of 0.03-0.15 mol. equiv.
