<p>Device for purifying a liq. contaminated with an immiscible lighter liq. consists of a sepn. chamber is a duct in the bulk of the liq. through which liq. from the surface is pumped. Rising from the top of the chamber is a duct in which a column of the lighter liq. forms. An overflow is arranged below the level of max. height but above the main liq. level, to run off the lighter liq. The line for taking off the liq. column can be a hose pipe mounted to a float on the liq. surface. The circulating pump can be mounted after the chamber and can be either centrifugal or air lift. The chamber is of diffusor section. Used to remove a lighter liquid from the surface of a bulk of heavier liquid which it is contaminating.</p> |
