1467421 Lining pipes INSITUFORM (PIPES & STRUCTURES) Ltd 8 March 1974 [9 March 1973] 11574/73 Heading F2P [Also in Divisions E1 and B5] A surface at least partially defining a passageway which is a pipe is lined by urging against the surface by fluid pressure a flexible laminate comprising a membrane which is relatively impermeable to fluids and a layer of cellular, flexible, foamed plastics material, e.g. polyurethane, which is optionally used together with a fibrous sheet structure, the foamed plastics material and fibrous sheet being inpregnated with an uncured synthetic resin and lying between the surface and membrane with the foamed plastics material being between the membrane and fibrous sheet when this is used, so that the laminate takes up the shape of the surface, and curing the resin while the laminate is in such shape. The laminate is preferably in tubular form and comprises an inner tube of relatively impermeable material around which is disposed the layer of cellular, flexible, foamed plastics material impregnated with uncured synthetic resin and resin impregnated fibrous sheet if used, the fibrous sheet being a needled, fibrous felt. |
