Prodn. of granulates or mouldings from mineral dust, foam and hydraulic binder comprises (a) producing a first mixt. by dry mixing the mineral dust (e.g. fired clay dust, flyash, sand or the like) and the hydraulic binder and then mixing with water to form a pulp-like material; (b) producing a second mixt. by mixing the foamer with water to form a foam to which further hydraulic binder is added and mixed; and (c) combining and mixing the two mixts.. USE/ADVANTAGE - The process is used to produce cast blocks or a finely porous concrete granulate. It provides optimal distribution of the hydraulic binder in the foam and produces an extremely fine pore structure which is not destroyed by further mixing.
