Plastics (I) are claimed, obtainable by (1) forming, as monomer unit contg.m at least 2 functional gps. through which coupling to form polymers can take place, difatty acid deamides, difatty acid diesters, difatty acid amide esters, monofatty acid amide-amines, or monofatty acid amide-alcohols, by reacting (A) unsatd. and/or OH-contg. fatty acids and/or their esters with (B) bifunctional ester- and/or amide-forming cpd. (2) opt. reacting ethylenic double bonds present, then (3) coupling prod. by means of a second gp. of bifunctional cpds. which can react with these free functional gps. to form (I). USE/ADVANTAGE - Range of prods. available to plastics industry is increased; (I), contg. units of natural origin, may be more readily degradable.
