The invention relates to guillotine shears (gate shears) of the sort comprising a framework on which is mounted a table and which carries a frame formed by two lateral members and by an upper girder (stringer), shears consisting of a lower blade interacting with an upper blade which can slide vertically, a sheet clamp which can slide parallel to the said upper blade, and means for making the said upper blade and the said sheet clamp slide. These shears are characterised in that said sheet clamp 10 includes two superimposed parts 10a, 10b, the opposing faces of which each carry a tool part 14a, 14b, and in that means are provided for temporarily securing the said parts 10a, 10b of the said sheet clamp 10 together.
