1467435 Hydrogenated diene/aromatic copolymers; electrical insulators DUNLOP Ltd and INDUSTRIE PIRELLI SpA 25 April 1974 [2 May 1973] 20823/73 Heading C3P Hydrogenated conjugated diene/aromatic copolymers having a maximum iodine equivalent of 200 mg./g., a maximum heat of fusion (measured as defined) of 20 cal./g., and a maximum vinyl content prior to hydrogenation of 25%, are used as electrical insulators, either alone or compounded, and preferably cross-linked. In Examples, hydrogenation of butadiene/styrene copolymer is effected in solution in cyclohexane in the presence of a nickel diisopropyl salicylate/ aluminium triethyl catalyst, and the products are compounded with a calcined clay, a commercial antioxidant, dicumyl peroxide and triallyl cyanurate. |
