Continuous conveyor system for oranges - has pad containing granulated particles and carrying goods along horizontal path between loaders and ejectors

The conveyor is for the transportation of sensitive goods, esp. oranges, between a supply station, where the goods are supplied free falling, to an output station. The conveyor has a continuous row of support pads. Each pad has a cover contg. displaceable granulated particles. Before arrival at the supply station, the particles in each pad are subjd. to a displacement force, so that the pad is outwardly arched. The displacement of the particles due to the force of the falling object is utilized to accommodate and reduce the active impulse forces, and to form a seat for the object during movement towards the output station. To form the outward movement, the pads are turned upside down, when they return from the output-to the supply station via the lower section of the conveyor.
