The ceramic tile masking plant includes a handling arrangement for transferring tiles from the moulding machine onto a belt conveyor, then unloading them from the conveyor and depositing them onto a wagon (22) for charging the kiln. At the delivery end of the moulding machine is a carriage which travels to and fro, supporting a vertical frame with grippers which remove stacks of tiles, rotate through a right angle and deposit them onto the conveyor. At the delivery end of the conveyor (21) an overhead frame carries grippers which remove the tiles, and travel towards the wagon while rotating through a right angle. They are then deposited on the wagon. This travels on rails parallel to the conveyor. The mechanisms are operated by double acting pneumatic cylinders.
