1433055 Heat processable photographic silver salt material EASTMAN KODAK CO 12 July 1973 [18 July 1972] 33318/73 Heading G2C A sensitive heat-processable photographic material comprises a support bearing on one side in one or more layers a photo-sensitive silver salt and an oxidation-reduction image-forming combination comprising a light-insensitive reducible metal salt and a sulphonamidophenol (which term covers sulphonamido-naphthols obtained when R1 and R2 in the Formula below complete a benzo component) reducing agent therefor. The sulphonamidophenol may have the Formula:- where each of R1 and R2 is H, Cl, Br, NO 2 1-4 C alkyl or alkoxy, or 6-12 aryl, or R1 and R2 together complete a benzo component; each of Z1 and Z3 is H, Cl, Br, 1-4C alkyl or alkoxy, 6-10C aryl, or R6SO 2 NH- where R6 is 1-4C alkyl, 6-10C aryl or heterocyclyl; and Z2 is H, Cl, Br or 1-4C alkyl or, when R4 and R2 complete a benzo component, R6SO 2 NH-, at least one of Z1, Z3 and, when R1 and R2 complete a benzo component, Z2, being R6SO 2 NH-, it being additionally possible for one R6 only to be where A is a residue which completes a compound symmetrical about the moiety, any alkyl, alkoxy, aryl or heterocyclic group being substituted or unsubstituted. The photo-sensitive silver salt may be silver halide or a silver-dye complex. The light-insensitive reducible metal salt may be a salt of an organic acid, such as a fatty acid, which salt does not darken upon illumination, e.g. silver behenate. The material has good processing temperature latitude and can give image of satisfactory discrimination.
