Liquefied gas storage tank - has radial partitions between welded plates with inwardly curved inner surfaces

The storage tank is constructed of metal plates welded together. Each plate has a curved surface in the vertical plane and is joined to its neighbour along the vertical edges, the perimeter of the tank having a multilobed appearance. Vertical straight partitions are used between each curved plate, these extending radially outwards from a central vertical post or axis. Each partition extends outwards beyond the perimete walls, its free edge being gripped by clamps on the load bearing structure. Top and bottom of the tank are formed by cone shaped surfaces and round the base is a flanged rim.
