Optical testing system for resilient sealing elements - directs modulated light from light guide onto sealing lip, receiver underneath

An optical testing system for resilient sealing rings, employs a mandrel which is raised to engage the lip of the sealing ring and rotated. The sealing ring is pressed against a test edge and passed with its whole lip area through an optical system. The sealing slot is illuminated with light serving as the base for objective judgement. Modulated light is brought by a light conductor directing to the light slit, and directed by utilisation of refraction between test probe and sealing edge. It reaches a light receiver rigidly connected with the light conductor. The system can be used for multiple lip sealing rings.
