Beer can sealing end - has edges rolled over sealing ring to give double lock

The can contains beer or carbonated drinks and has a body made from a material having a composite construction. This has a fibre core with metal skins. The end is metal and is pushed into the can body, after having a sealant ring placed inside its rim. In the case of metal cans, the rim then has its outer periphery rolled over and the bead formed downwards and compressed to give a double lock. Composite cans are similarly sealed, the bead deforming the thickness of the material to improve the lock and the sealing action.
