<p>Electric razor with motor (2) sited laterally w.r.t. cutting head (11), i.e. having an elongated head incorporating a static cutter on a long edge and joining a similarly elongated motor housing via a union (14) of two minor faces. The arrangement includes driven cutters (21) within the head (11) and a suitable coupling (19, 20) between the motor shaft (13) and these cutters, and is designed to optimize the relationship between motor speed and inter blade pressure, whilst affording versatility w.r.t. choice of motors and cutting heads utilized. Pref. the angular relationship between long axies of head and housing is 180 deg. or more; and pref. alternative head designs embody rotating 80 deg. to 85 deg. inclined disc cutters (21) or reciprocating toothed clippers, each being interchangeable on the motor housing.</p> |
