<p>The method to cut off and remove the top flash (13) on a plastic container while still warm and formable also closes the container with a separate seal. A mandrel (23) is inserted after the container (11) has been formed and transferred to the next station (10). Simultaneously, the seal (28) is taken from the magazine (27) by a gripper (21). Movement of the cutting and sealing device (14) causes the mandrel (23) with the removed flash (13) to engage a form (29) and the gripper (21) with the seal (28) to move in over the container. This is followed by pulling the flash from the mandrel (23) and pushing the seal (28) onto the container (11).</p> |
