Printing machine timer for feed - synchronizes with machine and accepts papers of different thicknesses, formats and qualities

In front of the feed rollers of a printing machine a timing roller rotates adjacent to a friction pad. The pad adjusts to the timing roller, with gap set to accept the thinnest paper of a mixed thickness supply of stacked sheets. The unstacking mechanism slides the stack's top sheet between an intermittent roller (10) and a spring loaded backing pad (11), then along a lead-in (6) to the feed rollers (7), (8) of the machine. The intermittent roller's peripheral speed at pick-up slightly exceeds the sheet speed. When the sheet is held in the feed rollers, the intermittent roller runs freely.
