<p>The emergency release for a safety belt anchorage has the fix ends of the seat belt webbing fitted to a slat which fits in vertical position into the slots of two blocks bolted to the car body. The slots are positioned so as to take up any traction in the direction of the car travel. In case of an accident, provided the user of the seat belt himself is unable to release the normal seat belt catch, helpers from outside can free the passenger by pushing the slat backwards and out of engagement with the slots in the block.</p> |
