<p>I.C. engine with fuel injection, for vehicles, has an air pressure-responsive speed governor (1) connected to the fuel injection pump (2) through a lever (5) engageable with a stop which limits the max. pump delivery. The idle setting of the pump is adjustable by a wedge (8) arranged between the lever and a plunger (7) being part of the governor. The wedge is pivotally depending from a mounting to follow the movement of the plunger and lever. The mounting is manually adjustable by a screw (12) whereby the driver of the vehicle can set the idle and thus the max. setting of the governor to suit ambient air pressure at different altitudes of travel.</p> |
