The expanding finger ring has a small, spring loaded upper segment which permits the ring to slide easily over the finger joint then fix it in position so that it will not twist round. This feature is especially important for heavily encrusted rings. The spring device (20) encompasses leaf springs (38, 40) which extend downwards through corresponding recesses (32, 34) in the side arms (28, 30) and which are held by fixing pins (42, 44). The upper ends of the springs extend out through an opening (36). When the ring is slid over the finger joint the small segment (14) is pushed upwards and then forced down again by springs (38, 40).
|
