<p>The pneumatic/hydraulic system for high cycle speeds comprises a conventional power cylinder (14) and piston (2), with unequal size rods (4a, 4b) and an auxiliary piston and cylinder whose working area is greater than the cross-sectional area difference between the rods (4a, 4b). An annular balance piston (12), bits between the power piston (2) and cylinder (14). its mass equals that of the other reciprocating parts (2, 4, 6) with which it is synchronised in opposition. The two pistons (2, 12) overlap at all times. The main piston actuates the independent timing valves (8, 10). These valves connect the working fluid lines (30) to the auxiliary cylinder and the space (14b) in front of the main piston. The spaces at the back of the piston (14a) and around it (14c) are under constant pressure.</p> |
