The arrangement is for securing a protective baffle (3) in a heating oil tank (1) by to a tank connector (2). The baffle is held between a seal ring (4) on the inside of the tank and a clamp ring (5) of a bridge piece (6) with central bore (8). The securing force is applied by tightening a nut (9) on a bolt (7) held in a fixing element (10) inside the stub end.: The fixing element consists of a domed plate (10) of resilient material which extends at right angles to the bolt (7), and is carried on a collar (13). By tightening the nut, an axial force is applied to the convex side of the plate and spreads it outwards.
