<p>The human male's ability to ejaculate is diminished by administering to the male a 0.06-0.725 g. dose of an acid-addn. salt of d- 1,3,4,9,10,10a-hexahydro-6-methoxy-11-methyl-2H, 10, 4a- iminoethanophenanthrene (I). Cpd. (I) is used as a birth control agent. The ability of a male to ejaculate can be delayed or even prevented for about 15 hours depending on the dose level. Also the amount of semen and living sperm ejaculated is greatly reduced, so minimising the possibility of fertilising the ovum. With increasing dosage of (I) there is also an increasing delay towards the point of ejaculation during physical stimulation, e.g. with 0.08-0 2g. the delay is from 15-30 mins. from initial stimulation.</p> |
