<p>The space-retainer, for two woven steel meshes set parallel to each other and to the plane of the shuttering, in concrete walling, comprises a bar with accommodating devices for the reinforcing rods of the meshes at both bends. The bar is a shaped unit, made of plastic. At each of its two ends it has two, or more, accommodating devices (3) for the reinforcing rods (10). The centre axes of these devices are mutually offset by a set interval (s). The bar's configuration may incorporate two or more flange-tpe, flat battens (1), either enclosing an angle or running in the same plane. There may be a loop shackle device a both ends of the spacerM encompassing the rounded end, and connected to the bar in one piecE. The spacer's overall length, between the tips of the loop shackes, may slightly exceed the correct interval between the form walls. Damage to shuttering boards is prevented, the reinforcing rods cannot be pressed out, and the number of spacers needed is reduced.</p> |
