Heat storage and refractory bricks which are used for core of a storage heater may be built up into plates which accommodae bedded in heating elements. The individual elements are manufactured from a molten basalt maerial and are designed with a series of elevations on the side directed towads the heater element. The elevations are generally circular design and are sharply conical with truncated flat tops.
