<p>The disclosure of this application relates to a looper device employed to impose a constant tension on a strip as it passes between the stands of a tandem rolling mill. The looper is operated by an hydraulic actuator which is controlled by a computer controlled hydraulic servosystem. The computer is fed a signal of the position of the looper and calculates the required pressure difference across the actuator for a desired tension.</p> |
